Grape Picking at Shanelz Vineyard in Samal Island

When people think of Samal Island, white-sand beaches and beach resorts usually come to mind. But if you’re looking to experience something different, Shanelz Vineyard in Mambago-B, Samal District is a refreshing countryside destination that’s worth adding to your itinerary.

Open during the harvesting season from February 1 until the first week of August, the vineyard welcomes visitors Tuesday to Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It’s a great stop for families, couples, and anyone who wants to enjoy nature while learning about grape farming.

The highlight of the visit is, of course, the grape-picking experience. For ₱400 per kilo, guests can harvest their own grapes with the assistance of the vineyard staff, who will demonstrate the proper way to cut and pick the fruit.

Shanelz Vineyard grows an impressive 13 grape varieties, including Shine Muscat, Cotton Candy, Muscat Bleu, Moon Drops, Jupiter, Joy, Everest, Flora, Black Hamburg, Baikunor, Julian, Bogaty, and the Brazilian Hybrid.
